For the art world December isn’t just the beginning of the holidays, it marks the beginning of Art Basel Miami Beach. It’s a magical time of year for Miami, where the whole city is buzzing with excitement, and art influence can be found almost everywhere.

The official Art Basel exhibit at the Miami Convention Center will be open to the public between December 8th and December 10th from 11am to 6pm. With private invitation only events happening during December 6th & 7th. According to the official Art Basel website, the exhibit will feature “a mixture of international Modern and contemporary art galleries exhibit works by artists ranging from young talents to 20th-century masters”.

The Convention Center will not be the only place where you can experience some amazing pieces of art. Wynwood Walls will also be unveiling some unseen artworks. The Miami Design District and hotels such as the EAST Miami were hosts for art installations during the 2022 Art Basel so it’s possible they will also be hosts for some cool pieces again this year. Even the designer stores in the Design District participate by bringing in one of a kind pieces such as exotic handbags from Louis Vuitton or high jewelry from Tiffany for people to view and purchase.

Young emerging artists like Marina Scarmato will also be showcasing their work in private exhibits. Marina’s work takes on influence from Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, and Alec Monopoly. Our personal favorites of her collection include No Chanel This Month and True Love shown in the above photo. We’re just waiting for a “I’m a size 25… Birkin” - but really - we love the unique, fashion-inspired elements of her work.

Each piece Marina creates is hand painted and meticulously brought to life using tens of thousands of rhinestones.

Marina’s exhibit will be showcased between 12pm - 5:30pm on December 8th with a private 21+ event running from 6:30pm - 10pm. Tickets are still available and range between $10 - $150.

If you’re local to Miami or the surrounding Florida area this is a fun-filled week you won’t want to miss. There are tons of ways to experience Miami Art Basel even if you aren’t an art connoisseur. True to the Miami-vibe the week is also filled with other fun, non art-related events, and yes of course - lots of parties. We had the pleasure of attending in 2022 and highly recommend it to anyone who is able to attend.
