It’s giving Tom Ford Gucci era - the Gucci Horsebit bag is the new it bag

From celebrities like Kendall Jenner, & Rhianna, to fashion influencers like Tiffany Moon we are starting to see this bag pop up everywhere. But it’s not the first time we’ve seen this bag. The Gucci Horsebit bag was originally designed by Tom Ford and first showcased in the FW02 show.

Tom Ford is considered by many as a fashion legend for his work as creative director of Gucci from 1994 until 2004. He created many iconic bags and RTW pieces for Gucci during his time with the brand. The Horsebit bag being one of them.

Like other trends this bag fell out of style and could be found on the resale market for extremely low prices. We saw one TikToker share they sold theirs for only 210€! Now when you look at pre-loved Horsebit bags you can find them for upwards of $4,000. We were able to find some listed for closer to $1,300 but that’s still a far cry from 210€ - poor soul. If you’re on the hunt for a vintage option and can find one for a reasonable price, don’t think twice just get it because those bags will not last.

If you’re interested in getting this bag you can purchase the 2023 small version from Gucci for $3490 in leather, or $2690 in the GG canvas. There is also a medium size which is priced at a few hundred dollars more. The updated version of this bag comes in 7 different leather options and one classic canvas option. You also get both a chain and leather strap. The bag can be work as a shoulder bag with one of the straps, or as a clutch, which seems to be a popular option.

We’ve seen this bag slowly making appearances over the past few years but with the recent resurgence of Y2K trends it’s no surprise that this was one of the items to make a comeback.

Personally we prefer the vintage Tom Ford styles over the 2023 leather version. If we were to scoop one of these up it would have to be a vintage or the classic canvas 2023 version.
