Could this be any more heartbreaking? No, it really can’t.

The world lost a friend on Saturday October 28th. Matthew Perry, better known as Chandler Muriel Bing to fans of the sitcom show Friends, has passed away at 54.

Reports by TMZ say that Perry was found unresponsive by his assistant in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home around 4pm on Saturday. While he had a long history of struggling with addiction, there were no illicit drugs found at the scene.

His willingness to openly share about his experience with addiction is something that we hope people remember him for as much as they do his iconic role in Friends. It’s never easy for someone to share experiences with addiction, but Perry made it a point to use what he had gone through in hopes to help others who also share that struggle. In an interview with People he said “I wanted to just talk about the highs and the lows because people are suffering out there and maybe if they hear a story from somebody they’ve seen on TV that’s worse than theirs or just the same as theirs they’ll be filled with hope".

Matthew Perry was a friend to every fan of the show Friends, and will be deeply missed. The idea of never seeing this iconic group together again is devastating to think about. Instead of focusing on the sadness of the situation we’d like to take this time to pay tribute to him and his iconic character by sharing some of our favorite moments shared with Chandler Bing.
